Indonesia State Utility PLN Replaces CEO Darmawan Prasodjo With Suroso Isnandar
- Indonesian state utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) replaced its chief executive, the company's independent commissioner Andi Arief told Reuters on Thursday.
- At a shareholder meeting on Wednesday, PLN decided to remove Darmawan Prasodjo and appoint the firm's former risk management director Suroso Isnandar as CEO, according to Andi Arief.
- Power outages documented in the report include a major blackout across at least six provinces in Sumatra in May, rolling outages in Java and Kalimantan in June and July, and an outage in Batam on Monday lasting at least 16 hours.
- Asked whether the leadership change was about the blackouts, Andi Arief said no reason was given at the meeting and said he suspected the change was routine because Darmawan Prasodjo had been in the role for a long time, according to the report.
